Tom Parker Diagnosed With Brain Tumor

Fans of the British boyband 'The Wanted' have been grieving after Tom Parker singer revealed that he has a grade four glioblastoma tumor and that he will undergo treatment.

'The Wanted' band, a group of five guys, consisting of members Max George, Jay McGuiness, Tom Parker, Siva Kaneswaran, and Nathan Sykes, formed in 2009 and are most notably famous for their two No. 1 singles, “Glad You Came” and “All Time Low.”

The band hit their peak in the early 2010s, but just four years later, the band went on an indefinite hiatus. Tom parker went on to dabble in other projects, including his role as Danny Zuko in a touring production of Grease and even making the semi-finals of Celebrity Masterchef.
He also took this time to focus on his personal life and went on to marry actress Kelsey Hardwick back in 2018.

They have a 16-month-old daughter and are currently expecting their second child, which makes Tom’s statement to fans even more difficult to grasp. Sunday night, he made the devastating news public after being noticeably quiet on social media in the weeks leading up to his announcement.

Tom Parker "The Wanted" first shared the news with OK! Magazine just before taking to Instagram to post a sweet photo of his family alongside a lengthy caption that read,
“There’s no easy way to say this but I’ve sadly been diagnosed with a Brain Tumour and I’m already undergoing treatment. We decided, after a lot of thought, that rather than hiding away and trying to keep it a secret, we would do one interview where we could lay out all the details and let everyone know the facts in our own way.”

He added,
“We don’t want your sadness, we just want love and positivity and together. We will raise awareness of this terrible disease and look for all available treatment options. It’s gonna be a tough battle but with everyone’s love and support, we are going to beat this. Tom and Kelsey.”

During his interview with OK!, Tom revealed that he had suffered a seizure in July and
was put on a waiting list for an MRI scan, but just six weeks later, he suffered another,
more serious seizure during a family trip to Norwich and was rushed to the hospital.

After three days of tests, he was diagnosed with cancer, but because of covid restrictions, his wife was not allowed in the hospital, and he was given the tragic news on his own. He and his wife Kelsey also revealed that doctors described the tumor as a “worst-case scenario” and told the couple that it was, in fact, terminal.

The news was a tough pill to swallow for the rest of the band, as well as the millions
of fans who had grown up listening to The Wanted for years.
